High 1 Mountain Resort - Weekend Ski Trip

One of the things we had been talking about though all of November and December that the gang wanted to do was go skiing. Pretty much everyone in the group had gone once or twice, with Ashley being the "expert" snowboarder of the gang, and me being the "expert" skier. Eventually we found out about a two day, one night trip to a mountain resort far north called "High 1". We went through a program called Enjoy Korea and paid $212 to get two full days of lift tickets, an overnight stay at a resort located a 5 minute walk from the lifts, bus transportation to and from Busan, two days of ski and boot rentals, and two days of snow pants and coat rentals. As expensive as it seems, it was actually a GREAT deal and it was a TON of fun.

Originally I had said that so long as I'm able to go skiing once in Korea that would be fine, but now that I have gone once, I'm dying to go again! Were already looking into doing another trip, but are unsure where we will fit it in. For now, I'll just have to settle for looking back on the pictures and videos.

Andrew brought his GoPro on the ski trip and we were able to trade off recording on several runs to get enough footage for him to make this awesome music video of us! You can check out his blog here: http://drewmau5.tumblr.com/

Thankfully, most everything at the resort was in both Korean and English, so we never accidentally ended up somewhere we didn't want to be.

The view from the top was incredible. High 1 is one of the newer and more famous ski resorts in Korea and it's located right in the middle of a ton on mountains which provided an amazing view from all spots on the mountain.

Some selfies on the lift.

This was the Mountain lodge at the base of the mountain. We stayed in the mountain resort just behind this building.

There were two peaks on the mountain. "Mountain Top" and "Valley Top" This is the view on the way up to "Valley Top". At the halfway point to each peak, there were "hubs" and at the two bases were the ski lodges. At the bottom of the picture above you can see "Valley Hub". At the top of the mountain on the right in the picture below, you can see "Mountain Hub".

On the top of the hill on the left you can see "Mountain Top".

Just before the last run of the day, we were sure to all find each other again to get one group picture.
